Mister Softee Is In Texas
Growing up in Ohio in the mid 70s, I was fortunate enough to experience a proper neighborhood ice cream delivery. Mister Softee had the cleanest trucks with the nicest drivers. The best thing about them was that they delivered SOFT SERVED ice cream on cones.
Moving to Texas, we left this all behind as a distant childhood memory - until just recently when Joe McSweeny decided to bring it to...

I read about “Panda” shots on the Change Your Life, Ride A Bike Blog. I’ve seen these types of shots all the time, but never knew there was a term that was used for them. I guess these are what you would call the cycling equivalent to a “Facebook” or “MySpace” shot, where you take one of yourself from arm’s distance away. Here is the official...

I thought this would be a nice replacement for my dead cycling computer, but $350 is a bit much for me.

I first saw this announcement on Motoring Underground. For those of you who love MINI and like to get out there and spin on a bicycle, this is for you: http://www.cooperbikes.com/ http://www.bikerumor.com/2009/05/22…-fixie-bicycle/ Apparently, they may be overpriced for what you get, but the idea of merging two of my favorite worlds is pretty interesting.

What to do if you ever find yourself naked in...
I’m not sure why I was thinking about this, but if I were ever to find myself naked in public, the first thing I would do is run to the nearest person, grab them by the shoulders and scream the question: “QUICK, WHAT IS THE DATE!!??”
When they reluctantly to try and answer me, “… um, it’s May, Twent…” I would abruptly interrupt their answer with...

Lucky Son-Of-A-Bitch
There are a few bike lanes around the University of Texas, Dallas as well as some scattered greenbelt trails around Richardson, where I live. Unfortunately, outside of that, you’re on your own. My general rule-of-thumb is if a road has 3 or more lanes, stay off - generally the automobile traffic is much heavier in these situations.
I’ll typically take a back or side street, but...

GIRO / Hex →
Well, I wrecked on my bike last weekend. To be honest, I don’t recall hitting my head. I either didn’t OR my helmet kicked ass. Either way, I went ahead and replaced it (as recommended by the manufacturer).
So, if you are looking for a great helmet, I highly recommend the Giro Hex.
